Hey folks, I am placing an order for more RMATA hoodies, and a first time order for long sleeve RMATA t-shirts. Both of these orders are due to popular demand and several requests. They are both good for use in the winter. I am not going to order a bunch of extra hoodies or shirts, so if you want one you'll have to let me know now and pay for it, and I will give it or ship it to you as soon as they are in, which will be in about 2 weeks. If you dont order it now then you will have to wait until the next time we get enough interest to place an order (I'm guessing 4 to 6 months). The hoodies have the same RMATA design that the t-shirt does. However one change we are having on the hoodies is that the phrase "SEEKING TRUTH IN COMBAT" will be on the right outer arm. This phrase will be in the same place on the long sleeve t-shirts, and from now on, on the regular t-shirts as well. So if you wants one just go to the RMATA.com store and place your order ASAP, because I am going to put in the order in 2 days (this Friday) so they will be ready before Christmas. The hoodies are $30, the long sleeve t-shirts are $20, and the t-shirts are $15. Again, all ordering info is on our website at this link; www.rmata.com/store.html

Unfortunately I've never previewed any of Lloyd Irvin's products so I can't comment on them. However I have heard great things about his skills and I'd love the opportunity to train with him someday.
Hopefully someone who has studied the book of his that you are referring to can comment on it.

You are talking about the training camp, right... not just another seminar?
It was 2 days with 4 instructors teaching an hour each day. We all basically went over some of our favorite stuff. The exact notes are long and detailed. When/ if the DVD for the camp ever gets done the notes will go along with it, and I'll compile them and post them here as well.

Oh, I'm sorry armyofone... I must have missed that post of yours several months ago and it just slipped through the cracks.
Now I know that you are talking about the training camp DVD's. Well, I have been waiting for them to come out myself! My DVD guy has been having one problem after another with them. I have been onto him about this once or twice a week, but still no results. He says he keeps putting in the hours on them...
If anyone knows anyone who is good with taking digital video disks, editing them and cranking out a nice, finished DVD with chapters and all, let me know. I use a company on the west coast to make multiple copies of the finished product, but getting to that point is the hold up.
Whenever I get more news about the last training camp's DVD I will be sure and let ya'll know.
Ohh, and I'll deffinently be coming out with a clinch fighting instructional DVD soon.. I'll keep ya'll informed.

ArmyOfOne,
Which seminar are you talking about? I don't know of any seminars that happened this weekend.
I haven't decided 100%, but I think I'm probably done selling seminar videos or DVD's. Instead it will be more professional looking to just have everything (almost) on the curriculum DVD's.
Rex, The Clinch Fighting Instructional is my next big project. I will keep ya'll informed of it's status. Hopefully it will be all ready to go in a few months.

For thai pads I have bought several different brands and nothing I've seen is as good as Fairtex. I've bought dozens of sets of their gloves also and like them. Just make sure you buy gloves that you can easily put on and take off by yourself with 1 simple slip on/ off motion. This is hugely helpfull when you need a quick drink between rounds, to take your mouthpiece out and put it back in, etc. For headgear, I still havent found a brand that I really recommend. Maybe thats because I hate wearing it. For NHB gloves I highly recommend Truth NHB gloves. You can get them at; www.txmma.comHowever the forearm and hand protectors are better for NHB sparring from the website below, since you can work punches, forearms and elbows with them and it's just 1 piece. Here is a places that I order some generic equipment that works very well. I buy their forearm and hand protectors, shin & instep guards (the white ones near the bottom), and knee protectors here. I'ev got about 20 sets of each. It is great stuff for clinch sparring and working strikes in all ranges, as they fit with elastic and are the slip on/ off type of equipment. When it's time to up the striking contact level in sparring just replace the forearm and hand protectors with boxing gloves and forearm protectors. www.e-bogu.com/category_s/88.htm

Hey Rob,
I'd be happy to write a review of it and put it on the board. I'm guessing you should probably add the pics to it first, I'm sure it would make it 10X better. After that a simple website with pics, reviews, and ordering info about it would probably be very helpful as well.

Hey Rob,
Do you have a website where people can read about it, read reviews of it, get purchasing information, etc? I'm sure that would greatly help sales.

Sounds nice Rob, I'll have to check it out. Having pics to go along with it... or even the whole thing on DVD would really be a useful tool.

I just watched Bill Cogswell's "fundamental submission chains" seminar DVD and would like to comment on it. This seminar is on 2 DVD's that are an hour long each. It is full of submission chains that everyone who grapples must know. However it is not just "the basics", as some of the techniques will definitely not be known by everyone.
There are about a dozen or so series of techniques from many positions, each comprised of several submissions each that flow right into each other. Bill offers several options from many positions to continue transition to more submissions regardless of how your opponent defends. I would recommend this DVD for all skill levels, as it is easy to follow and offers great material. The submissions on this DVD are all what I call "high percentage" in that they work on someone about your own skill level a high percentage of the time. It really is material that every grappler needs to know. There are no chapters on the DVD, but I just used the fast-forward and rewind buttons when necessary and had no problems.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that were in the process of getting designs made up to put on different products. I am very impressed with the artwork so far; I'm working through a very professional company here in Southern IL called Silkworm inc (www.silkwormink.com). I've had them do shirts, patches, decals and more in the past and they do the best job of any I've seen.
Anyway, hopefully soon the new products will be up in the store. The price will be very close to what it costs to have them made. I'll try and get some logo's posted of the artwork soon.
If anyone has any product ideas, sizes, etc, feel free to discuss it here. Thanks.

Guys, I'm working with several people getting revisions of the curriculum done. Were trying to make this an extremely comprehensive curriculum with no areas missed, and filled with awesome stuff all around.
The curriculum will be posted ASAP. Much of the material will be understandable from reading it. Everyone should deffinetly be working on their sparring and grappling to prepare for the levels; the techniques will be the easy part. I dont have an exact date on getting the whole curriculum on DVD, but it will certainly be as soon as possible.
I am currently trying like mad to finish a masters degree so that is taking up a lot of my time. I'll still trying to find time to teach seminars, private lessons, and work out with my private training group; but I am in the busiest chapter of my life. I'm also checking out several people/ companies that will be able to do a good job in preparing the DVD's. I want them to be a valuable tool that everyone can use as a study aid so I want them to be done right.
When I get more info or get a more specific time zone I will certainly post it here.
