Mr Parnell,
My humble 2 cents worth of opinion is that I generally don't like anything that claims to be "World" this or that if it is not truly representative of the world. So the title "World Jiu-Jitsu Academy" doesnt sit well with me. It's not like there is 1 jiu-jitsu academy for the entire world... or even 1 governing jiu-jitsu organization for the whole world. Many schools or organizations seem to throw larger than life sounding words into their title, which I feel cheapens them. Maybe something like your last name or the city your school is located in, and then "Jiu-Jitsu Academy" or "self-defense academy" would be better? "Parnell's Jiu-Jitsu Academy... Benald Illinois" for example.
Also, it says "Sogo Goshin Do" near the bottom of it. I doubt that anyone will have any idea of what that means, or what is being offered an the academy in which that style is being taught. With 2 martial styles listed I'm guessing it will only add to the confusion.
Are people to think that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or Japanese Ju-Jitsu, or Sogo Goshin Do is being taught? I fear that most people will have no clue what type of academy this logo is representative of, other than to guess by looking at the picture of one guy throwing another guy with Kata Guruma (Shoulder wheel) from Judo (also a standing fireman's carry from wrestling).
I hope I have'nt been too harsh... just being honest and offering what I hope is constructive criticism. A logo means alot and isn't something that is usually changed later on down the road. One needs to put ALOT of thought into it.

i tend to agree with Vince on this one. I mean, lets face it....Machado's use "machado Jiu Jitsu", Gracies use "gracie jiu jitsu".....but you are going to be "World" jiu jitsu? I can only imagine a couple guys showing up to your cla*ses, and the logo above the door: "WORLD jiu jitsu acadamy"........i'd say it's a good idea to change the name.....although the logo picture is nice looking.

Maybe he chose "World Jiu-Jitsu Academy" because it is open to the whole world ?

Oops, sorry Mr Parnell and all. I was trying to increase the file size attachment limit for the forum and accidently messed up the initial post in this thread. The admin functions would not let me get it back to how it was!! It was showing the RMATA logo instead of Mr Parnell's logo, so I had to delete it.
Hopefully you can post it again, and have it linked to an website which shows your logo.

my goal has never been to control jiu jitsu just build something that is brazilian jiu jitsu but not a*sociated with the gracies to eduacate poeple on the founders of my style of jiu jitsu... MY Emblen or symbol is for my brand of competition our matches our matches are commanded and scored and spoken in japanese like judo..like they should be brazilian men use words like advantage point and faixa preta...my coach and I did not like the scoring system or the lack of proper translation we both took gracie jiu jitsu and stopped and went else where...I dream of A more inclusive and less questionable brand of jiu jitsu just like oswaldo fadda one of my great friends and coaches may he rest in piece....my organization exzist for competition that is fair and to welcome poeple from all places and teach them so they may teach others and build good poeple in the process...

well I have changed some things on the emblem because I respect all the poeple on this sight and the opinions.. I have changed Sogo Goshin Do this was a good idea i thank you all.but its never occurred to me using my own name my coaches never named there schools after them selves my vale tudo team is chosen based on skill and raw talent.but the world will stay because our sport jiu jitsu is supported by its players who come from the world.. the word world means not power or the last word on jiu jitsu... the world academy is here to compete and hold competitions between other schools .....Ok I am not a gracie fan they like to lie and get into street fights this is a basic fact I have seen tapes of them attack poeple on crutches .. I have seen tapes of them disturb judo cla*ses.. I seen them spit on poeple while fighting.. and rickson released a realy brutal statement as of late and I feel he would be put to sleep by both noiguera brothers...but all jiu jitsu poeple that originated from the gracie's all are skilled beyond wonder but I am A JUDOKA at heart and poor character does not impress me ... Thank you all for the input and Mr.fields please call me bill or loy....
