I will be giving a grappling seminar in Chanute, Kansas Sat. June 18th at 10:00a.m. @ Kerry Henson's American Jiu-Jitsu Academy on Cherry St. Chanute is located in Southeast Kansas 2 hours directly south of Kansas City and 2 hours north of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The focus of the seminar will be on ground grappling with lots of techniques from the bottom part of the guard. Submissions in combos will be stressed using basic techniques such as the Kimura, Japanese armbar, Going to Back, Kneebar, The Guillotine Choke, Back Sweep, Elevator Sweep, Hip Bump, Spinning Sweep, OmoPlata, Scissor Sweep and others. Examples would be: 1. Japanese Armbar to Triangle to Japanese Armbar on the other side to the Kneebar. 2. Kimura or Hipbump to Japanese Armbar to Omoplata and so forth. You should always grapple with combos.
Also shown will be innovative ways and setups to the basic techniques.
Takedowns from the Knees will be shown. This is an often neglected area especially since Submission Wrestling is practice from starting on the knees 90% of the time.
Neck cranks from many different positions will be shown. Just like Gene LeBell I like neck cranks and LeBell taught me neck cranks.
Another favorite technique I like are Leglocks, foot locks and hip cranks many of which I learned from Vince Fields, Gokor, Gene LeBell, Santos Flaniken, Ahmad Reese, Robert Ferguson, Brian Peterson, Eric Paulson and others.

The seminar went great. The best part was my son went with me and helped out. We stayed for 2 weeks, participated in several cla*ses and even went over to another dojo in another town 30 or so minutes away. For a review of how the seminar went by the owner of the dojo go to: www.saw-jj.com
