This weekend I went to St Louis for a seminar with Jermaine Andre. Everyone had fun and walked away from 5 1/2 hours of training sore. His Muay Thai instructor Ron Smith covered a few hours of Muay Thai, and Jermaine covered NHB stuff and street self defence stuff.
Last weekend I went to Knoxville TN to help run a submission grappling tournament and to attend a Gokor Chivichian seminar. The tournament went very well, with almost 100 competitors going double ellimination. The seminar was awesome as usual, with Gokor showing simple techniques that had me going "why didnt I think of that before" to mind blowing stuff. Everyone in the area should deffinetly come to these seminars/ tournaments that are thrown twice a year in Knoxville at Matt Booe's academy. He runs a RMATA chartered school and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet in the martial arts world.
These events are exactly what the RMATA is about; bringing together good people with great instructors showing realistic martial arts techniques and having a great time while training and learning what really works in combat. We will certainly have many more similar events in the future. For our skills camp both instructors are likely to teach, as well as world champions from other disciplines.
Check our "seminars" page for any upcoming seminars hosted by RMATA chartered a*sociates.
