I am one of those people that love conditioning. I jump rope 4 times a week for 30 minutes and run 2 miles twice a week. I lift 4 to 5 day and do bag work and other training around 3 or 4 days a week for about 1.5 to 2 hours a session, thats not including rolling and sparring with the guys durring our workouts. I was wondering what everyone hear does for conditioning and what the priorities are for you in conditioning?

It does look very nice. I wish I could find headgear like that for about half that price to buy in bulk. Thanks for the link. Open a wholesale account. It's usually just a business licence or something simular. I usually get everything 40 to 60% off of what is listed as a retail price.

I liked it. It was a "show." But it was still cool to see MMA on real TV. They tried to pull the best part for the viewers, of course. But all in all, it was very cool.

The real deal is all that is needed. If you can't work something against a resistant opponent, in different situations or surroundings, it's not needed.

is that typically the traditionalists do not engage in realistic training. They dont actually fight each other in their training. ...........They also seem to take great offence to this idea being somehow better at preparing them for combat. Do you feel your eyes have opened wide to the kiai world of one punch one kill. The people that train in "traditional" arts are taught to believe that thier arts is the best, everything else is substandard and not to learn anything from anyone else. That way they can keep the myth up. I have no problem with traditional arts, just the mental training (brainwashing) that goes along with it. I gar-rone-tee (spit, ping) that as soon as one of those jokers take a deep horse stance against some guy in a fight and the guy's girlfriend kicks him in the members only section and gets pounded by the guy's buddies he will start to think twice about what he is learning. Traditional arts could be very effective if praticed right, after all the base knowledge that goes into them and mma are the same. They just need to findout what works and what doesn't through trial and error.

I wish there was a good way to train them full speed. Like a realistic training dummy whose wrists you could break and re-break over and over. That would be cool. Like one of those rebreakable boards, that could come with something like to green man from II sports.

I agree, they fall into the same catogory as small joint manipulation for me. I can't see people flying through the air with because of a wrist lock or begging for forgivness because you have two of his fingers. I heard a phrase by Tony Cecchine and I beleive that it is the best way to approach things of this nature, it's "snap no tap". Another words just break something and worry about the agressor later.

My favorite submission of all time is the greatest of all submissions. I smile everytime I get this submission, and with out fail I might add.
It's the one where he taps out.
I personally don't care what it is, or if theres a name, just tap out. Neck crank, choke, arm bar, leg lock, what ever, JUST TAP.
Basically what I'm saying is just go with it, my favorite is what I catch that opponent in at that time.

Vince, just a bit of clarification please, you wrote if I understand it right that for each level you would have to do that many round sparring, level 10 = 10 rounds of sparring. So you have, - 10 Rounds of boxing sparring. - 10 Rounds of kickboxing sparring. - 10 Rounds of takedowns & throws. - 10 Rounds of clinch sparring with takedowns. - 10 Rounds of submission grappling. - 10 Rounds of NHB Sparring you said it can be done on different days, so here is what I am getting at, is there a length of time to be covered for the test? For example, Level ten as used prior in my example, 3 months to finish the level ten test. Also if you go say 8 out of the ten rounds and get knocked out, do you have to do all ten round over again? Also if you get submitted in the grappling area what would happen?
I know this is alot to throw at you right now so please take your time in answering. I am sure that it will become crystal clear to me once I see your guide lines. Thanks.

Vince, I was wondering would it be possible to have a link for "post made since your last visit" type of deal. It's not a big deal, I'm just one of those that like to get in and get out kind of quick. I'm really suprised I've been married as long as I have been. I would be great if possible, thanks.
