His name is Jeff and stepping up for the first time doing a Submission Grappling match. This kid is 90 Kilos (198 for the non metric guys ) and only 14 yrs old. Towers me at 6 foot. I'm, 5' 7" on a good day. Vince with all you help from the DVD and here I'm planning a big ol "W" on our side. Truth be told he's already won in my book just by stepping up. Wish us luck Rex

Hey Rex,
I'm glad to hear he's competing. Regardless of the outcome of the match it is a victory for him. Competition is the fire that burns away impurities and he will be better, learn, find weaknesses, etc because of it. Many people never experience this due to their ego (afraid of getting beat).
Wish him the best for me and tell him to keep training hard and competing, regardless of the outcome of individual matches.
GOOD LUCK!! Train hard.
Vince

Well guys I hate to say that my boy lost. But in loss there was much victory. He was 90kilos and 14 years old the guy he was fighting was 69 kilos and 21 years old. Pretty strong too. Not making excuses was just a lack of expereince here. The match started out great he was being the predator and taking it to him. He got caught in the Thai clinch and just seemed to brain fart and just reacted instead of reacting like we do in training. As his head was being pulled down he just started to pull up again and the guy just forced him down again and he lost his footing. Tried to shoot but the guy sprawled and caught him with the Alligator roll / anaconda choke. Great learning expereince for him and he told me he'll do it again this time I wont underestimate them just cuz I'm heavier. see if I can put the vid up some where for ya'll
