Here's an interesting story: www.smh.com.au/news/national/home-invasion-thwarted-with-knife/2006/03/10/1141701669107.htmlHome invasion thwarted with knife March 10, 2006 - 11:08AM A Sydney homeowner fought off three armed intruders with a knife, injuring one who was later arrested when seeking hospital treatment. The Roseville man confronted the three men, who were armed with a shotgun, as they forced their way into his house on the Pacific Highway at about 11.15pm [AEDT] yesterday. A scuffle ensued and the homeowner received a cut to his head. He retreated to his kitchen where he was able to arm himself with a knife. "[He] believes he might have injured one of the intruders," a police report said. "No shots were fired during the scuffle." The three men fled the house, jumped into a car and sped away. A short time later a man arrived at Royal North Shore Hospital suffering a stab wound, police said. He was arrested and remains under police guard. Police are yet to establish a motive for the home invasion and would not say if the offenders were wearing balaclavas. "[We] are following up a number of lines for the inquiry [and] haven't ruled out anything," Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin said. The two other offenders, both aged in their 20s, are described as being of Pacific Islander appearance - one of stocky build and the other of thin build.

That is great to hear. I believe that fighting back is a much better idea than just trusting your life in the hands of armed robbers or attackers and hoping that they will be good people and not injure you. They have already proven to be scum with low moral values and can only be trusted to do the unethical thing, being the predators they are.
