Hi, I just wanted to give you a quick update on the RMATA fight shorts.
The shorts were delayed by the manufacturer for several weeks. They appologized and promised faster service in the future.... we'll see. After that the shorts were delayed in Chicago for several days. I was told by customs that this was due to a backup of packages being sent for the holidays. I have went to St Louis to pick them up and I was not allowed to get them due to the fact that customs had'nt yet inspected them yet at the time. They told me to pick them up and despite my 5 hour trip would not allow me to get them when they said.
Now that customs has inspected them, they are requiring me to have a "Care Instructions" tag sewn onto each pair. Ughh! Like you don't know how to wash a pair of shorts. Anyways, all this is getting taken care of and it should'nt be long at all before I can pick up the shorts and start shipping them out! It should be this week sometime. I am driving up to St Louis again tomorrow to try and get this all taken care of. I have been told that I'll have to bring the shorts somewhere to get the care tags sewn onto them and then have them inspected again before I can take them home. I'm packing a bag in case I have to stay a day or 2 to get this all taken care of.
I'll keep ya informed of my progress and let ya know when they are ready to ship.

Hi folks, well the RMATA Fight shorts are finally in. I will get some picture of them in action photos posted on the website asap. Their quality is great... just what I had hoped for. They are very strong, loose fitting, and perfect for grappling or MMA (or any sporting activity really). For all of their features see the website.
However there is a big problem; the manufacturer messed up the sizes. The sizes I ordered were XXL, XL, L, and M. However the sizes that the shorts actually are, are M, S, XS, and XXS!! I am working with the manufacturer to try to get this fixed and made right, so hopefully soon I will have XXL, XL, and L shorts in.
For now I will be shipping out short orders that are size Medium and below. If you are bigger than a medium (32 inch waist) please check back soon, since hopefully bigger sizes will be in shortly. Thanks.

EXCELLENT!!!!!...man, that sounded like a lot of work.... I was secretly checking this thread daily, but i didn't want to bug you any more. Actually, i just realized that there is almost no way to know if there is a second page to a thread...Were you aware of that? ? I didn't even know the second page of this thread existed, unless you look up at the "page" menu and click it, then it drops down to page 1 and 2. Otherwise you would just think the last entry on the first page is the most up to date entry. Kind of funny, but i guess that's the way the software works....any way to change that? Looking forward to seeing those shorts pics. I've been holding off on getting shorts in anticipation of these coming out. Thanks for perservering through all the hard times!!!

Armyofone,
Thanks for the technical heads up... I will check and see if there is a way to simplify that page issue. I know that "next page" thing does'nt appear until more than one page exists on a particular topic.
About the shorts, if you can fit into a 32 or below waist you will love these. I had 2 of my private lessons students wearing them today, and they are perfect (both of them said so).

Vince....I'm about 5'10", 208lbs and maybe a 36 waist or so...... Just curious why you mentioned that 32 and below is a perfect fit? Does that imply that in some way the fit for larger sizes isn't as good?

Let me clarify. The LARGEST size shorts that I have fit someone with a 32 inch waist perfectly. The shorts just get increasingly smaller from there. The manufacturer really messed up the sizes. The "XXL" shorts they sent me are the ones I am speaking of that fit someone with a 32 in waist. They have a "XXL" tag in them but they are really what we know to be a "Medium" since they fit a 32 waist. I am in the process now of remarking the sizes that I recieved, because there's no way that shorts that fit a 32 waist are XXL.
I will get all of the exact measurements of all of the sizes that I have posted on the website ASAP. I am hoping to have some TRUE sizes XXL, XL, and L soon, but I'll have to keep ya'll informed about that.
I'm sorry to say that anyone who is bigger than a 32 in waist will have to wait for bigger sizes to come in. I will keep any news posted here, and I am sure there will be some soon as I am working with the manufacturer to fix this problem.

So us fat guys are out of luck?

discrimination comes in many forms..... It's obvious certain people are conspiring to keep fat people like us (above a 32 waist) down.

Just a quick update for whoever is checking...
I've been arguing back and forth with the manufacturer about this problem. Predictively they are trying to shift responsibility off of themselves for their mistake of sending the wrong sizes.
As soon as I get any more info I will post it here.

Of course I am checking..... Thanks for the update...... The message is clear: "Fat people to the back of the line"!...... Serriously though, it sounds like quite a pain in the a*s. It really sounds like it will be a few more months until all this is ironed out. There just seems to be so many communication and production problems with those guys. After all you've been through i guess it's hard to turn back on the shorts. Hopefully these people come through for you. It seems like it shouldn't be that hard for them to just make the shorts but i guess that's how it goes.....

I sure hope it wont be a few months. Actually, it will either be very soon or I'll be finding a different manufacturer. Sort of the inside school is that they simply sent sizes much smaller than that which I requested. For example, the XXL shorts were supposed to be 40 inches of unstretched fabric around the waist, and the elastic in them would stretch to fit someone even a few inches bigger. Well they actually measure 34.5 inches around the waist! I will post a picture of the XXL shorts that they sent me in front of one of one of my real XXL short with a 40 inch waist. Here it is; www.rmata.com/sitebuilder/images/RMATA_XXL_Shorts-600x450.jpgYou can see that the orange shorts are about 19.5 inches per size, plus another inch in the edges makes for about 40 inches. The black shorts are obviously way too small. Anyways, I'll keep ya'll informed as any news comes in.

I will get some pics of the new shorts put up within the week. I will get the sizing information posted on the website along with ordering information as well. Someone with a 32 inch waist will wear about an XL in the shorts that I just recieved. However I will ensure that any future orders run correct to what size they should be.
I am in the process of sending shorts to the manucturer so they can see exactly the size of shorts that I want each size of RMATA shorts to be. Stay tuned for more info.
