Hey folks, I'm very proud to announce that one of my students, Brad Renzi, competed in his first no holds barred fight this weekend. The event was the "Battle at the Ballpark" in St Louis Missouri. Brad trained very hard for the fight. He has been training for about 3 years and has come a very long way. His opponent was his same weight, 160, and had done 1 NHB fight, which he won by KO. Brad came out hard and fast and got a quick takedown. He dominated the ground portion, almost finishing it with a rear naked choke. He was on top working some very effective ground and pound, and then took an armbar to finish the fight. The whole fight was about 2 1/2 minutes long. A clip of the fight is supposed to be up on www.aggressiontv.com within a few weeks. As soon as it is I'll post a link to it here. Congrats again Brad! Vince

I'd rather be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Good job... ...I like the switch move from top sprawl to taking the back and rolling..not sure what to call it, but we picked it up on Burt Richardson's Choke'em Out..nice lil setup. Was this an amateur event...we are having problems here in Texas. Ams have been temporarily banned pending further review, causing some fighters to turn pro too soon or travelling out of state. Wish us luck...

Hey Johnny,
That was just a sprall and crossface to go behind to top turtle position, then a lift to take the back with hooks in. There are several other nice ways to take the back with the hooks in, we'll have to go over them sometime.
There were amateur and pro fights on this card I believe. Brad's fight was amateur since it was his first and he did'nt get paid.
Good luck with the fight situation in Texas!!
