I'd rather be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

All the other forums are flooded with thread about Spike Tv's The Ultimate Fighter show. I'm interested in what the RMATA guys think about it.

It seems like they are showing a lot of immaturity on the show. I also dont like these stupid challenges they are doing when they should be combat related. It's cool to see a couple guys that I have trained/ grappled with on there (Lodan Sincade and Mark Laimon). They need a heavyweight division for that show.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Third episode got the fights started. I think the intensity is going to pick up a little bit.
Yeah Vince, I was just thinking yesterday that they outta go with some heavy weights next go around...I nominate you.
See you around, Johnny

The 3rd episode was deffinetly the best so far. I'm looking forward to each week's fight.
I wouldn't make it past the cardio workout they did on day 1!!

I liked it. It was a "show." But it was still cool to see MMA on real TV. They tried to pull the best part for the viewers, of course. But all in all, it was very cool.

It has just finished airing here in the UK. I didn't bother watching, I only wanted to see the Shamrock/Franklin fight, on the night of the final. I managed to miss it.

I knew Sam Hoger a few years back... they made him look like a punk on that show!

Vince, I hated the challenges as well. I did hear that they're getting rid of those & starting with challenges that ACTUALLY have something to do with fighting/training/combat. Also, they're going to do heavyweights as well, right? That's what I heard Dana saying.
I thought it was interesting to see that people who had never even heard of the UFC were watching this show. I had a girl that I worked with sit there & tell me, "have you seen that fighting show on tv? They all walk around in their underwear".

LOL. I'm not in shape anywhere near good enough to make it through the TUF training. Even if I were, I don't think I could stand living with a big group of guys like that again... reminds me too much of the Marines.

It's using the popular platform (about played out in my opinion) of reality TV to showcase MMA and bolster its popularity. I have friends and relatives who once turned their noses up to UFC, King of the Cage, local shows, ...etc. who now love to watch the sport. Though I hate reality shows, I think it's good for the sport.

Definitely good for the sport. So glad Spike TV has carried TUF and some UFC fight nights!
